Frequently asked questions.
Which permission does it need?
Screen Recording, so it can capture the screen. It is asked for the first time you take a capture, with a card that shows the real status and a Check Again button. Nothing is requested before that.
Can I change the shortcuts?
Yes, all four. They are global, so they work in any app while Waki Capture runs. Settings lists every shortcut the app listens for.
Where do screenshots go, and can I use iCloud or Dropbox?
Clipboard captures go to the clipboard only. File captures are PNGs in the folder you pick, which can be a synced folder. Open it from the app any time.
What does tidying delete?
Nothing, strictly: older captures beyond your keep-at-most or keep-for limits are moved to the Trash, and only files named like screenshots are considered. Your other files in that folder are never touched.
Does it run in the menu bar?
Yes. Waki Capture is a menu bar app first. Choose menu bar, Dock or both, keep it running when the window closes, and open at login.
Which platforms?
macOS 14 or newer on Apple silicon today.
Which computers are supported?
The current desktop apps require macOS 14 or newer on Apple silicon.
Can I buy or download it now?
Public purchases and downloads are coming soon. Private development releases are not public installers.
How will the license work?
The launch plan is a one-time purchase with a 14-day trial, a year of updates, two Macs per license and a 14-day refund window.
